San Francisco is noisy, expensive and occasionally absurd. It is also one of the few places where the future shows up early enough that you can have dinner with it.
The local density is real
For AI builders, San Francisco still has a rare concentration of researchers, founders, toolmakers, investors, early users and people who are willing to try unfinished things.
That density is useful, but it can also be hard to access if you arrive as a visitor with no container. A SOTI house gives the week a home base.
A European bridge
Many SOTI residents come from European ecosystems with strong talent but less ambient startup density. SF can act as a pressure test: sharper feedback, faster references, more visible ambition.
The goal is not to imitate the Bay Area. It is to bring a strong group into contact with it while preserving the SOTI way of relating: smaller, warmer, less transactional.
Beyond events
The city has plenty of events. The house gives those events memory. People go out, meet others, come back, compare notes, make introductions and keep the thread alive.
That is where a week becomes more than a calendar.
